Pack your picnic blankets, raise a glass of Pimm’s and get ready to wave your flags at the most quintessentially British summer celebration of the year; Battle Proms at Blenheim Palace, where military meets music. Experience soul-stirring compositions, cannons and cavalry for a jubilant summer’s afternoon and evening. Featuring a series of jaw-dropping displays and events in the lead up to the 2-hour orchestral programme, this open-air picnic concert promises to be one of the highlight of your social calendar.

The New English Concert Orchestra drives an explosive ensemble. Witness Beethoven’s Battle Symphony performed with the full complement of 193 cannons, musket fire and fireworks, as Beethoven himself intended, exclusive to Battle Proms

Jaw-Dropping Displays: Battle Proms at Blenheim Palace welcomes the Worcestershire Cavalry as they demonstrate thrilling skill at arms. Swiftly followed by freefall parachute displays, courtesy of The Red Devils, as well as cannon fire and a spitfire flyby.

Acclaimed Soprano: Denise Leigh heralds the crowd in a sing-along finale with pieces such as Jerusalem, Rule, Britannia! Land of Hope and Glory and more.

Tuck into a deliciously rustic grazing box and enjoy picnicking against the backdrop of Blenheim Palace, famous for being the birthplace of Winston Churchill.

Once the concert has come to its crescendo, and you’re feeling suitably spellbound, retire to the Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel in Watlington on the edge of the Chiltern Hills for an overnight stay including breakfast and 10% off Bicester Designer Outlet
