This great cruise and stay starts with flying from the UK to the Egyptian, capital Cairo where you have a 3-night stay.
Cairo, the capital of Egypt and is the seventh most populous city in the world. Cairo is the country's centre of commerce, economy, education, and tourism. Cairo was home to many cultures since ancient times and is a city with a rich cultural and historical heritage. The city has the natural beauty of the Nile and magnificent historical monuments.
Cairo is home to the Egyptian Museum, considered to be one of the most important museums in the world with the largest collection of ancient Egypt in the world. The museum attracts attention with its French architecture and exhibits 120.000 works including statues and mummies of ancient Egyptian pharaohs.
Of course one of the first things that come to mind when you say Egypt is, of course, the Pyramids of Giza. The pyramids, the icon of the country, are located a few kilometres south of Cairo. Many of the secrets associated with the construction of the pyramids are still unresolved today. The pyramids, which are also included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The sphinx is also located around the pyramids, which are known to be monumental tombs in the name of Egyptian pharaoh Khufu.
Khan Al-Halili Bazaar is one of the biggest markets of the Middle East; you can find articles made of gold and silver, spices, local clothes and shops selling various products. Located in the south of the city centre, old Cairo is another UNESCO World Heritage site. There are many mosques, churches, and synagogues and you can admire these historical buildings, you will take a journey through the narrow streets of Old Cairo.
The Nile is the longest river in the world. It has influenced the cultures, economies and even religions of civilizations built around it.
You will spend 3 Nights in the 5* Al Masa Hotel Nasr City or similar. Located in the green area of Nasr City and Cairo city centre and the Egyptian Museum are both just 20 minutes away by car. The hotel features a terrace with a swimming pool and it offers five restaurants and a wellness centre.
All the rooms at Al Masa Hotel Nasr City have views of the terrace, the garden or the pool. Each air-conditioned unit includes a flat-screen TV and a minibar. All the elegant rooms have a balcony.
After you 3 nights stay in Cairo you will be transferred back to the airport and the short flight down to Luxor where you will be met by our representatives and transfer to your 5* Hotel in Luxor for the night.
After breakfast the following morning you will be picked up by your tour guide and they will take your to see the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.
You’ll then step on board your cruise ship for the next 7 nights as you cruise down the River Nile from Luxor to Aswan and back. During your time cruising on the River Nile, you will spend seven nights on board one of the Royal Viking, the MS Emilio or similar. Staying on a full-board basis you’ll be tucking into three delicious meals each day, including a buffet breakfast and lunch, then a set meal for dinner. Each boat generally has a sun deck with a small pool, restaurant and bar. Cabins are comfortable with an en-suite bathroom.
During your cruise you will see some of the world’s most iconic archaeological sites, not to mention the stunning scenery that surrounds the River Nile. Included in your cruise will be a visit to the East Bank of Luxor, where you will find the famous Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, both which date back to roughly 1500 years BC. You will cruise down the river to other temples including the Sobek and Philae Temple, as well as visiting the High Dam, a more modern marvel. On the West Bank of the Nile you will visit the legendary Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple which was commissioned by Hatshepsut, an Egyptian queen who ruled as a king, adopting the title pharaoh for her two decade long reign.
At the end of your cruise, you’ll be transferred back to Luxor airport for your flight back to the UK.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1 – Fly from the UK to Cairo and transfer from airport to hotel.
Day 2 – You’ll be picked up from your hotel for a tour to see the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum.
Day 3 – Free time in Cairo.
Day 4 – Fly to Luxor and you will be transferred to your 5* hotel in Luxor.
Day 5 – After breakfast you’ll be picked up from the hotel and visit the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon before embarking your Nile Cruise Ship.
Day 6 - Begin with an early morning trip to the East Bank of Luxor to visit the Luxor Temple and the Temple of Karna, the largest temple in the world, where you will see the massive obelisks, the sacred lake and the avenue of the Sphinx.
Day 7 - Enjoy sailing along the fertile Nile Valley. Overnight in Edfu.
Day 8 - Visit Edfu early morning and then take a horse carriage to The Falcon God Horus Edfu Temple. Then you will sail on to Aswan.
Day 9 – Today you will visit the Aswan High Dam, The Unfinished Obelisk and then take a motorboat to visit the beautiful Philae temple of Goddess Isis.
Day 10 – Sail to Kom Ombo and visit Temple of Kom Ombo.
Day 11 – Sail to Esna Lock and then on to Luxor.
Day 12 – After breakfast you will disembark and take a transfer back to Luxor Airport for your flight back to the UK.
