Fly from the UK airport of your choice and you’ll be allocated in a quality 4* city centre hotel with breakfast included each morning. On arrival, depending on your arrival time you’ll be free to explore and enjoy some of the great local food and drink on offer.

The following day we will take you on the Grand City Tour, followed by a cruise along the Danube. You’ll see the best of the Hungarian capital on a bus tour with a live guide and an unforgettable 55-minute river cruise. Get to see beautiful Budapest and its magnificent sights from land and water, without the hassle of walking through the crowds.

Your tour begins with a 3-hour Grand City Tour of Budapest. Pass by the iconic Parliament building before crossing the Danube River by the Margaret Bridge and making the ascent to the Royal Castle area on the Buda side, where you will enjoy a short walk to the Fisherman’s Bastion and see the stunning exterior of Matthias Church.

Next, sit back as you journey up Gellért Hill, where you will enjoy a photo stop and time to take in the panoramic views over Budapest. Afterwards, the coach will take you across the Elizabeth Bridge and along Andrássy Avenue to the imposing and breath-taking Heroes’ Square. Pass by the Opera and St. Stephen’s Basilica on the way back to where the bus tour ends in order to start the Danube cruise experience.

Departing from Vigadó Square Blur River, this river cruise has 2 stopovers. Passing by the imposing building of the Parliament, you can admire the panorama of Margaret Island. The Castle District – the Royal Castle - the Matthias Church & the Fisherman’s Bastion are located on Castle Hill, and the Liberty Monument and the Citadel are on Gellert Hill. Continuing the tour heading south, you can see the many famous bridges of Budapest, the National Theatre and the Palace of Arts. As you travel back to the cruise terminal, you can see the University of Budapest and the Central Market Hall.

This evening you are free to enjoy the best Budapest has to offer with its countless bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the great value food and drink on offer.

The following day we have a real treat in store for you with a visit to the Szchenyi Bath, the largest thermal spring bath complex in Budapest and throughout Europe, which is the height of European elegance.

Built in 1913 in a captivating Neo-baroque style, the spa has a rich history, evolving from private steam baths to a vast complex featuring 3 outdoor and 15 indoor pools.

But the experience doesn't end at the spa; it extends into the heart of Hungarian culture with a guided tour inside the Plinka Museum. After the spa, venture into the city centre to savour the flavours of the Hungarian spirit. Hungary's well-known fruit-based liquor is deeply ingrained in the culture of the country. Unlike whiskey or vodka, it is exclusively crafted from fruits, resulting in a special aromatic profile.

Gain insights into Hungary's Plinka Act of Parliament, a testament to the country's commitment to regulating and preserving the production & quality of the spirit. The museum provides deeper understanding of the craftsmanship and heritage behind this iconic drink.

This evening we turn to the darker side of Budapest and we embark on the award winning Dark History and Vampire Walking Tour in Buda Castle District.

Spend around 2 hours exploring the exterior of the Buda castle district by night and listen to gruesome historical facts and the bloody side of the Hungarian history in the XV-XVII century. Learn the myths of Vlad Dracula and Elizabeth Bthory, where your Storyteller will reveal the despicable actions of these two mad figures, all along with vampire stories of the 19 century.

You’ll see Buda Castle and the medieval walls and ruins of the castle. See Matthias Church by night, get enchanted by the panorama while listening to stories of medieval Hungary, and enjoy the beautiful panorama from the top of the hill of Fisherman's Bastion.

The following day is departure day and depending on your flight time you may have time for some souvenir shopping and a spot of lunch before your return flight back to the UK.
