Each February Copenhagen comes alive in a sea of light on the dark winter nights with a spectacular festival of light which you can explore with this 4* Bed & Breakfast break.
Copenhagen Light Festival is an annual light festival that transforms the cold winter nights into a unique celebration of light art, lighting design and illumination in the centre of Copenhagen.
In three weeks of February, the festival presents a wide range of light-based works such as sculpture, installation, projection mapping, event and illumination created by both established and upcoming light artists, lighting designers, students and organizations.
With a tailored light program selected by a curatorial committee, the festival exhibits, accentuates and interprets the city’s different spaces, the squares, the facades, the bridges and hidden places in a new and engaging way.
The majority of the light works are placed along a path in the inner city and the harbour, while a selection of art works that can be experienced in areas located outside of the city centre.
The Absalon Hotel (or similar) is a family run hotel, first opened in 1938 that stands in the Vesterbro district, Copenhagen's most creative and vibrant city quarter. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the Central Station and 5 minutes from Tivoli Gardens. The hotel is close to the popular Kødbyen neighbourhood or Meatpacking District and there are plenty of trendy bars and restaurants nearby.
You can enjoy delicious cocktails, wine, beer and tasty snacks in the cosy Absalon Bar and the hotel serves a Scandinavian buffet breakfast each morning. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and a guest computer with printer in lobby.
Ansalon rooms are the hotels standard room, furnished by the Designers Guild and finished in either Berry Purple or Ocean Blue.
